Easy DIY Patterned Wall Art

paperwallart_main2

I love the idea of adding splashes of color and pattern to rooms through DIY wall art that is easy to create and even easier to switch out on a whim. Plus, you can take advantage of scrap material, end cuts of fabric, left over wallpaper and scrapbooking paper designs that you adore! From framed paper (upper left) to fabric ‘upholstered’ blank canvases (upper right), to wallpaper cutouts applied with glue (next page) and repeating pattern designs (next page), the possibilities are endless — and the price tag, very low!

Amy Butler has released the quintessential dream line of modern fabrics, follow the jump to see a short sample selection (try searching eBay for remnants and amazing prices), and Bradbury & Bradbury launched it’s mod sixties collection that I’m head over heels for! (above)

I made my own version of paper wall art by framing patterned fabric squares that I found pre-cut for quilters (project made even easier!) and a fabulous Pottery Barn remnant from Craigslist. The four inspiration board ideas shown are courtesy of the incredibly inspiring bloggers at The Nest!

I am a big fan of creating “party art” to coordinate with the party theme.

Best of luck with the new Fabulous blog!

I found you by reading about your site on Celebrations at Home. I am SO glad that Chris featured your site today. It is fabulous!! I am especially excited about the links to buy fun contact paper from and your ideas. My daughter did a contact paper quote on her apartment door. Her choices of paper were very limited at the time. Here is a link to what she did. http://lisalyn66.blogspot.com/2009/08/new-day.html
Looking forward to all of your inspiration! :)
