Before & After: Day Bed Makeover

Here’s a neat little Before & After project that I love. Design*Sponge reader, Kate Pollmann, salvaged a vintage 50s day bed {a gift from her Grandmother} by giving it a beautiful face lift. She repainted the frame white, reupholstered the cushions and added fabric inserts to the lattice back and sides. It’s beautiful!

DIY Block Print Fabric Lampshades

I really love the unique and customizable look of fabric lampshades and after posting several of my favorites last month, as well as a how-to by All Things Lovely, I decided to give the project a spin myself.

I ordered this great hand stamped block print fabric from HomeSweet on Etsy and found two replacement lampshades at a local lighting store. All I can say is easy, easy, easy! I was so impressed with how quickly I whipped both of these out, and I really love the blue with my bedroom.

A Tissue Papered Halloween!

Halloween is almost here! If you’re a last-minute decorator (like myself) life will be much easier this year with these simple tissue paper solutions that are crafty and easy! From garland to place cards to sprucing up standard paper lanterns… tissue paper + scissors = quick & clever.
