Friday Guest Blog Interview: The Design Pages

April 8, 2011

I haven’t been great about regularly posting on this series (so much is going on over here!), but there are so many wonderful blogs out there that I wanted to revisit it on the occasional Friday to share favorites that I think you’ll find especially inspiring. The best part of  this series is diving into the who, what and how of these talented bloggers – from their favorite styles to what they love about blogging to their best tips and tricks.

So here we are back again with another Friday Guest Blog Interview with The Design Pages, a blog by Vancouver-based interior designer Carol Smyth. She shares her crafty design style and diy projects (like this mid-century modern makeover featured on design*sponge) and seriously – I don’t know where she finds the time to get it all done.

And when a friend recently asked me, ‘do you know of any distressing tutorials?’, I sent her this post – and that’s the sign of a great blog!

Let’s jump out to the Who, What and How. Read more »

Friday Guest Blog Interview: Simplified Bee

February 4, 2011

The Friday Guest Blog Interview series is beginning to work its way back into the swing of things. It’s such a privilege and a pleasure to *meet* new bloggers through this once-every-month-ish series and then to introduce you to blogs that I think you’ll truly enjoy! If you’d like to check out past interviews (and there are a full year’s worth from some of my favorites, click here, or on the Guest Interview button in the right sidebar). It’s always inspiring to me to learn more about another blogger’s style, design aesthetic and how they ‘got to where they are today’.

This week, Cristin of Simplified Bee is sharing with us her design suggestions and tips, and introducing her beautiful blog! Cristin creates what she calls “functional” interior design with an expertise and love for home organization. As a professional organizer, she shares inspiring (and motivating!) solutions, tips and tricks to promote harmony and enable efficiency, all while adding style & beauty to the home.

Guest Blog Interview: Simplified Bee 4

I love the concept and make regular trips out to Simplified Bee to read Cristin’s daily posts on beautiful decor and great finds.

Read on to learn more about how Cristin started her blog and company, what motivates her and what she includes in her favorite trends. I couldn’t agree more with her three top design tips and love of block prints, either! Read more »

Friday Guest Blog Interview: The City Cradle

December 10, 2010

My Friday Guest Interview this week brings us over to City Cradle Design where Victoria shares her beautiful handmade crafts and personally styled parties daily on her blog. I’m consistently impressed with Victoria’s careful eye and her intense attention to detail, each and every post honors the unique and special handmade projects that make up her beautiful celebrations (be it for her own family and friends or a client) . The DIY projects are not just pretty though, they are absolutely doable!

In addition to her blog, Victoria is a mom to twins and a party designer by trade, so staying busy but organized is at the top of her list (in fact one of her interview answers includes planning tips, which I love!). A neat discovery is that we also share the same sunny San Diego hometown and find inspiration in similar, unique places .

But let’s get on with the interview! Victoria shares more on her inspiration, design process, favorite trends and reader tips & tricks. Hope you enjoy! Read more »
