I’ve been mulling over my living room bookshelves recently… and am suddenly inspired to add a modern Jonathan Adler-esq wallpaper print to cover the back of the shelves. Here is some inspiration that might inspire you to take on a weekend project as well!
Canadian House & Home stripped kitchen cabinets to reveal neatly stacked dishes and a vintage print (viaCentsational Girl).
These white bookshelves with Orla Kiley wallpaper from design*sponge is one of my favorite examples a bookshelf backdrop (above).
What about fabric? There are so many options to choose from… cutting templates (out of foam core, balsa wood or mdf) to fit the back of your shelf and ‘upholstering’ the board is a great option that can be replaced as often as you’d like. For a more direct application, fold fabric edges in (for a makeshift hem) and use colorful pushpins to pin fabric to each corner. I love this Taxi Leaf Stripe in Yellow print from Timeless Treasures
For a smaller commitment (isn’t this perfect for the office or guest room?) Apartment Therapy shares a tutorial for lining a bookshelf in this black and white paisley print.
I’ve been so inspired by mini cupcake designs lately. They’re the sweet, petite version of their popular counterpart and are perfect for birthdays, showers & weddings. When Amber Vandervliet and her mobile cupcakery (aka Enjoy Cupcakes) was featured on Style Me Pretty, I just about found a little slice of heaven.
And what gorgeous eye candy? Simple cake stands stacked with assorted yummy bites have never looked so pretty or so darn easy to replicate.
Amber runs her business out of an adorable RV and is based in Southern California. Jose Villa captured this little photoshoot and his pictures are divine!
Can’t wait to include in a baby shower some time in the near the future! More delicious designs (in more ways than one…) and one of Amber’s recipes after the jump! Continue reading →
Happy Tuesday, everyone! My blogging buddy Michelle, from Maddycakes Muse, emailed me to ask if I wouldn’t mind spreading the word for her Easter/Spring Party Inspiration Contest that’s going on right now over on her blog.
She has asked six very talented hostesses to judge party entries for three fabulous prizes (which include a $100 gift certificate to Etsy!), jump on over to learn more and to enter your recent celebration (or to view dozens of great party entries)!
