Purple & White Winter Shower Bridal Baby 6

I’m feeling inspired today to share one of my favorite winter-y color combinations… all shades purple, lilac and lavender. Set against a snowy white backdrop it really does make a lovely party or shower theme.

These inspiration boards were built from images found at Style Me Pretty — forever a favorite! I love the idea of homemade purple candies wrapped in doilies, a mis-mash of jars & vases full of flowers, and soft purple ribbons draped about silverware & centerpieces. Read more »

Celebrating with a Lavender & Lime Baby Shower

December 2, 2009

Lavender & Lime, Purple & Green Baby Shower

Lavender & Lime is the perfect inspiration for a baby shower for those Mamas waiting to find out ‘if it’s a boy or girl’! The theme is bright, cheery and still makes for a very girly celebration on a Sunday afternoon.

A few friends and I recently held a baby shower with this in mind, and here are a few of the ideas we came up with.

Purple & Green - Lavender & Lime Baby Shower 2

Decorations included: Martha Stewart lavender leaf scrapbooking paper for a table runner and napkin wraps, bright yellow poms to accent the theme, homemade petit fours in matching colors, lemon bars that were delicious! and favors tagged with a tiny clothespin to thank our guests for celebrating with us.

The color scheme is fantastic — and the delicate vintage feel is perfect for this fall. This tablescape would be easy to recreate with richly patterned fabric remnants, lace scraps and orange berry swags from your local craft store. Matching scrapbooking paper with filigree detail for favor boxes and placemats… as well as an assortment of various china pieces from thrift stores mixed in with your traditional place settings. It’s so lovely!

Homemade boxes filled with your favorite dessert make unique favors. For something simple and personal, cover match boxes in scrapbooking paper, lace and buttons and fill with a short note on why you’re thankful for that person.

Beautiful details: Napkins tied with lace and berries, votives lined in paper, colored tumblers that match your theme and single flower blooms scattered about. Read more »
