Friday Guest Blog Interview: Amy of Stem Parties!
October 2, 2009I’m so excited for this Friday’s Guest Blog… Amy, founder of Stem Parties, is incredibly inspirational and has the biggest HEART of all. Her ideas and parties are clever & creative in that perfect DIY fashion! And her role as the Chief Event Organizer for Operation Shower deserves all of the accolades I can offer. This exceptional organization honors the sacrifices military families make by producing and coordinating unit-wide baby showers and “showers in a box” for pregnant or expecting military families in a deployment or high stress situation.
Stem Parties, a boutique event planning service in St. Louis, Missouri, originated from Amy’s love of party styling and entertaining and has transformed into a fabulous blog as well. A quick jump over proves that this designer was born to throw parties — peruse her recent events and you’ll see immediately how easy and effortlessly she pulls off incredible events! It’ll get the wheels upstairs turning!
You must read her answers to our four key questions… you won’t be disappointed! Follow the jump for the interview and pictures from her events, including more from Operation Shower. Read more »

Lemon Yellow Inspiration to Make You Smile
September 30, 2009I love the color yellow, it’s so light, bright and cheery that just the thought of it puts a smile on my face. These lemon yellow party themes do too — and they’re full of creative ideas for a celebration in any color of the rainbow. I’m loving the soft green accents that Utterly Engaged has tied into this Lemon Fresh bridal shower (especially the green pedastal cake stand)!
I’m brainstorming a baby shower for a friend who’s waiting to find out the baby’s sex, and it has been so fun seeking out new colors to incorporate instead of the traditional blue and pink. It’s lemon yellow that I love today, but word has it that mommy’s leaning towards green as her neutral, so bring on the kelly, lime and sage!
Follow the jump for two more parties full of bright, cheery ideas… including a yellow paper lantern and balloon lined dessert table, mini clothespinned favors and an adorable lemonade label. Read more »

Friday Guest Blog Interview: The Lollipop Girls!
September 25, 2009These girls are fabulously innovative with that {effortlessly glam} appeal that keeps you coming back for more great ideas. Their company, Lollipop Events & Designs, offers delightfully original decor solutions and their blog is fantastic!
I love the way that subtle nuances of everyday inspiration — such as the typography of a vintage poster or the bold patterns of fashion week — leave a tangible impact on their beautifully styled events (more on that in the interview). While you can just imagine the work and talent that lies behind the prep and creation of each of their celebrations, each and every one comes off as blissfully uncomplicated and fantastically chic. Their inspiration is accessible to the everyday designer, and that’s why they make an excellent addition to the Friday blog series!

“We transform fanciful ideas into original, fresh and innovative design concepts. We fold in custom illustrations, handmade décor, high-fashion fabrics and imaginative floral designs.” Oh need I say more? {swoon} Follow the link to read the interview and for excellent eye-candy. Read more »
