Halloween Table Decor Round Up
October 26, 2010We’re preparing for our annual Halloween dinner party this coming Sunday and I’ve pulled together a quick round up of a few of the amazing *spookified* table settings & dessert bars that have caught my eye:

This glam Halloween dessert bar by TomKat Studios mixes in nontraditional lavender, lime and glitterfied decor to a create a fun, creative spread.
Sandra of The White Library created an equally chic tablescape full of spiders & crows. Rich jewel tones provide a much friendlier alternative to your everyday Halloween color palette, proving that the holiday doesn’t have to be all about gore to be spooky and fun.

Katie recently showcased her orange and grey kid’s dessert buffet on Celebrations at Home – simple, clean, beautiful!

Anna and Blue created a delicious dessert buffet with similar colors in mind. Check out all of the great diy projects from this party at Hostess with the Mostess.

Finally, Sweets Indeed designed a delectable feature that’s full of Victorian-esq details – including lace patterned cookies, paper products, black swags and even filigree-inspired icing. More on table decor and those mouth-watering desserts here.

Purple seems to be the accent color of choice this year! I do love how it provides a soft contrast to the bright oranges, blood reds and black that we often see. I might just have to make it a feature color of our Halloween spread as well…

Just in Time for Fall: Recycled Sweater Vases
September 21, 2010
I recently found this tutorial and immediately began searching for a time this week to swing by the local Goodwill for a few chunky sweaters.
Under the Table and Dreaming created these beautiful vase and candle holder covers, see the full tutorial here. Sleeves create the easiest slip-on cover, but Stephanie Lynn shares how to turn the rest of your old sweaters into creative and cozy liners as well.

Doesn’t the soft fabric make you ready for cool weather and warm fires? And how great would these be grouped on the mantel or as a centerpiece for an upcoming Fall dinner? Thank you, One Pretty Thing for sharing!

{Vintage Carnival} Inspiration
August 25, 2010
Designed to offer a vintage spin on a carnival-themed celebration {bright colors, pinwheels, paper rosettes, ribbons…} this party is full of inspiring ideas. The very first thing that caught my eye was the bright pastel colors that adorn everything from the handmade ribbon table runners to the swinging two-sided paper rosettes.
Chris over at Celebrations At Home featured this beautiful Style Me Pretty photoshoot a while back and I loved every detail.

The dessert table is beautiful, and simple treats such as popcorn cones, store bought cookies (just add the custom icing) and covered apples make a delicious spread.
Personalized carnival invites pull the theme together, as do the white ceramic animals and the vintage decor that’s casually mixed in.

The above easy ribbon runner and set of handmade rosettes tops the list for favorite details. I created a similar backdrop and table decor out of paper pinwheels/rosettes for this vintage nesting shower and loved the result – they’re very easy to whip up and always look great!
