Any big plans for Mother’s Day? We’ll have the entire family from both sides in town for Olivia’s baptism on Saturday, so Mother’s Day will likely be a low key brunch at our house.
But if I could plan a Mother’s Day fit for a queen (my mother-in-love and dear momma), this might be perfect:
I’d make cute little labels for the pancakes, mimosas and grapefruit halves:
(feel free to right click and download for a future brunch, wine & cheese party or the like – just add a toothpick, straw or string depending on your food or drink item)
And Kevin might make delicious little silver dollar pancakes.
What a dreamy Mother’s Day this would turn out to be!
(PS it’s my first Mother’s Day – if you count the time the bambino is out of the belly – and I’m so excited to celebrate!)

Easter is just around the corner! I picked up a bouquet of daffodils and tulips just the other day at the market and they added such a bright and fresh touch to our kitchen and dining room. Any type of bulb flower at a sweet price is a definite nod that spring is here.
Here are some of my favorite Easter entertaining ideas – after all, it’s a mere two and a half weeks away!
We’re celebrating Easter with family and I think a casual brunch outdoors would be a lovely way to relax.
Purples, pinks, corals, creams… the inspirational palette for this year.
I have several white paper lanterns that I hang at varied heights for just such occasions.
A simple spread of french toast, boysenberry syrup and fresh squeezed oj? Yes please. Served atop vintage dishware with mismatched glasses around a centerpiece of beautiful flowers – double yes.
Alright, so I probably won’t hang antique chandeliers above the table, but it’s pretty, right?
Here are a few more inspirational Easter ideas!

Here’s a fun little tip for all of that left over wrapping paper you might have lying around.
I’m a huge fan of using a roll as an impromptu table runner or cut up as individual place mats (it helps incorporate beautiful patterns and colors – plus you can toss it when you’re done), but I love the idea of using this simple Martha Stewart tutorial to create small flowers for either a bouquet or even as individual stems wrapped around your silverware or wine glass.
Here’s the full DIY instructions.
Beautiful, right? Perfect for a shower, birthday or even a wedding. I love how simple and classic it looks!
