Soft Pastels: the Life of the Party
August 5, 2010
A bit of August party inspiration coming your way… pinks, corals & oranges make the perfect backdrop for a shower or tea party and I LOVE love the upside down poms (turned flowers) hanging over the top of this table. How creative! Can you imagine sitting beneath with the flower blooms swinging gently above?
Oh sweet summer nights.

Bouganvilla, sweet peas, garden roses and boxes of ripe peaches make the perfect centerpiece. Handmade soap {scented similarly?} wrapped in scrapbooking paper works well for a great favor. I love the simple menus and the floral napkins (so easy to diy) – pictured very top.

And here’s another option with plenty of peonies in birch vases – how delicious does that grapefruit mimosa look? Details such as the drink tags help to personalize a bigger party.
Hope you have a few reasons to throw some fun summer celebrations before fall finds us! Images from A Diary of Lovely.

{All Knotted Up} A Colorful Bridal Shower
July 19, 2010
This shower is full of so many fun ideas I don’t know where to start. But what I love most is that it’s a shower completely inspired by and dedicated to knitting – and a wonderful, colorful example of how you can showcase yours (or your bride-to-be’s) hobbies and talents to use as a personalized party theme.
City Cradle Design put together this beautiful spread using yarn and knots for nearly every detail – from the custom table backdrop to the centerpieces to adorable L-O-V-E letters. My favorite is the handmade chandelier fashioned from yarn balls and ribbon!

Inspiration from the creators: “Knotted in love was the name we gave to a recent bridal shower celebrating the bond of love that is leading the couple into marriage. We took cues in designing the shower from knotted yarn and created a homespun afternoon to celebrate a lovely new marriage.”

{Pink & Orange} An Adorable Summer Kid’s Party
July 16, 2010
TomKat Studio shares some of the most adorable party ideas, and when Kim posted these photos of a recent client’s Pink & Orange Birthday Celebration I wanted to share the beautiful inspiration.
The bright colors are the perfect setting for a summer party this July!

Kristy from F8 Kids Photography threw this bash for her daughter, Alexa’s 2nd birthday. The candy, or dessert bar, is great! Look at all of these vibrant colors – and covering the ceiling (or top of the buffet) in balloons is the perfect trick to draw your eye upwards and to balance out the colors across the decorations.
Some of the details that I love are the oreo pops (what a great take on cake pops), the photo banner and those adorable gerber daisy arrangements.

Too cute – more details and pictures (like the custom lunch box favors) at Kristy’s site.
