Before & After: Day Bed Makeover

Here’s a neat little Before & After project that I love. Design*Sponge reader, Kate Pollmann, salvaged a vintage 50s day bed {a gift from her Grandmother} by giving it a beautiful face lift. She repainted the frame white, reupholstered the cushions and added fabric inserts to the lattice back and sides. It’s beautiful!

Fabric of the Week: Del Hi by Valori Wells

This week’s feature fabric brings a bit of sunshine into the coming fall. The line, Del Hi by Valori Wells, was designed to capture the sense of nostalgia: your grandma’s antique couch, a Jane Austin novel, florals from a favorite childhood dress… A perfect blend of graphic prints and blooming botanicals — the look of an antique patina and modern whimsy all wrapped into one collection. My living room is a room in progress: from day 1 of purchasing our little Spanish cottage in San Diego, it was my goal to get the living room in livable-lovable shape despite the rest of the construction in and around the house. This would be the room where we’d unwind from the day, congregate with friends, sip wine and read a book while a fire warmed our feet. My room requirements included friendly, cozy and just a touch of modern.
