So I’ve changed the name of my favorite fabric show-and-tell postings to “Fabric of the Week”, which more aptly explains the purpose of sharing my favorite prints that I get so darn giddy over (old name: Fabric of the Day, despite the fact that I kept just one beautiful design posted all week!).
This week’s fabric, a rich velvet by Du Barry, is a gorgeous print that has caught my eye with it’s vibrant colors and bold texture. You want to reach out and pet the walls thats how great the fabric/wallpaper combo looks. Du Barry Velvets is part of the Spring 2009 collection over at Osborne & Little (a treasure trove of great fabrics and wallpapers to check out). I’d LOVE to reupholster a bench or settee for the end of my bed in this bright purple or fuscia — I wonder if the husband would concede.

I love the color yellow, it’s so light, bright and cheery that just the thought of it puts a smile on my face. These lemon yellow party themes do too — and they’re full of creative ideas for a celebration in any color of the rainbow. I’m loving the soft green accents that Utterly Engaged has tied into this Lemon Fresh bridal shower (especially the green pedastal cake stand)!
I’m brainstorming a baby shower for a friend who’s waiting to find out the baby’s sex, and it has been so fun seeking out new colors to incorporate instead of the traditional blue and pink. It’s lemon yellow that I love today, but word has it that mommy’s leaning towards green as her neutral, so bring on the kelly, lime and sage!
Follow the jump for two more parties full of bright, cheery ideas… including a yellow paper lantern and balloon lined dessert table, mini clothespinned favors and an adorable lemonade label. Read more »

Does your space need a bit of cheering up? Page Marchese Norman gives us a creative solution to a drab office by adding a simple monotone yellow throughout for a sunnier space. By adding canary-yellow artist’s tape (which doesn’t leave a residue) to book bindings, box bases and labels, the office has transformed itself from a neutral sea of tans, greys and whites to a brightly accented area. Incorporating neutral magazine holders, cd storage and oversize boxes to organize your space provides an easy palette to play with. Check out Martha Stewart Living for the full article. The colorful file folders shown are available through Paper Source.
