Creating the ‘Fun’ Table! Thanksgiving for Kids

November 25, 2009 by Morgan

Creative DIY Kids Table Thanksgiving

Don’t forget the kids this Thanksgiving holiday! We all remember holidays spent at the kids’ table playing and laughing with cousins. To create those special memories today, set up a kid-friendly space and keep it the ‘fun’ table by adding games, coloring, projects and creative decor. Here are a few inspirations that will make everyone excited to sit down! Country Living’s paper covered table is an excellent start (above).

Martha Stewart shares terrific kids table decor, such as felt finger puppets, customized table ware, DIY fringed tableclothes and pastel dessert centerpieces.

In good weather, set up the table outdoors with little stools and chairs. When kids get tired of sitting still, they can play and run in sight (Country Living tablescape). For steps on how to make your own headdress napking wrap and paper boat place cards check out Martha Steward Living.

For more ideas, and Bakerella’s tasty Turkey Cake Pops (the perfect kids dessert), follow the jump!

Games keep the party fun, try making your own Pop! Corn crackers or Turkey Trivia cards from Family Fun and Martha Stewart Living. The Mayflower centerpiece incorporates a bit of history and story telling — find DIY directions here. The Knot features these easy-to-make lollipop centerpieces (above right hand corner) — taken from a wedding kids table.

The Bridal Blog shares Dylan Lauren’s (owner of confection megastore Dylan’s Candy Barmade) sweet centerpiece. Martha Stewart is chock full of inspiring kids decor, such as adding candy necklaces for garland.

And with that, I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving Holiday! See you Friday!
