{Pretty & Petite} Cupcake Inspiration

February 23, 2010 by Morgan

I’ve been so inspired by mini cupcake designs lately. They’re the sweet, petite version of their popular counterpart and are perfect for birthdays, showers & weddings. When Amber Vandervliet and her mobile cupcakery (aka Enjoy Cupcakes) was featured on Style Me Pretty, I just about found a little slice of heaven.

And what gorgeous eye candy? Simple cake stands stacked with assorted yummy bites have never looked so pretty or so darn easy to replicate.

Amber runs her business out of an adorable RV and is based in Southern California. Jose Villa captured this little photoshoot and his pictures are divine!

Can’t wait to include in a baby shower some time in the near the future! More delicious designs (in more ways than one…) and one of Amber’s recipes after the jump!

Chardonnay Cupcake Frosting Recipe

From Enjoy Cupcakes, via Style Me Pretty

Ingredients
1/4 pound European Style Butter (@room temperature)
2 oz Cream Cheese (@room temperature)
Approx. 2 cups Powdered Sugar
Pinch of Kosher Salt
1/4 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
3 tablespoons Chardonnay

{1.} Cream the butter with an electric mixer, or a stand mixer with a paddle attachment on medium to high speed for about 2 minutes. Add cream cheese and continue to mix on medium to high speed for another 2 minutes or until soft and creamy!
{2.} Add 2 cups of the powdered sugar. Mix on low speed until sugar is incorporated and then increase speed to high speed and mix for another minute.
{3.} Add salt, lemon juice and chardonnay and mix on medium until the salt and liquid are incorporated.
{4.} Add remaining powdered sugar, again start out mixing on low and then increase speed to high.
{5.} If need be, add more powdered sugar until you reach the consistency you desire.

Jump on over to Style Me Pretty for more of the photoshoot!

That frosting sounds wonderful! I have a mini cup-cake pan and maybe I’ll have to pull it out and play. Thanks for the inspiration.
