A Sweet {Candy & Cakes} Vintage Birthday

March 8, 2010 by Morgan

Ready for a little spring eye candy? I almost fell out of my chair when I came across this absolutely adorable ‘recycled chic’ backyard party. I’m loving the idea of a *sweet* celebration for the coming months!

A vintage candy & cakes theme would work just as well for a shower, a wedding or even Easter.

Style Me Pretty shares this lovely photoshoot, complete with colorful poms, a delicious dessert table (make that the most adorable bookshelf you’ve ever seen!) and vintage place settings. I’m head-over-heels in love with every detail.

I can’t decide which perfect little piece of this party I like best. Is it the mis-matched paper prints (on the signs, as drawer liners, the background for the cake table, as place mats…) or the amazing floral designs (did you see that tablescape up top??) or the mouth-watering desserts!

More delicious photos – including the invitations, adorable handmade pillows and petite cakes – after the jump!

The paper goods by Good On Paper Design are beautiful! How cute are these table numbers (modified from hardware store home address numbers) and the vintage milk crates housing floral centerpieces?

I thought the place card (with vintage keys tied to each) presentation was a clever idea as well:

And I’ll leave you with this last collage of a few of my favorites! Note the petite fondant cakes on the bottom left…

hey, well my 16th birthday is coming up in a couple of months, and im really into like vintage/1920’s things. So for my birthday i want it to be all vintage, and old-fashioned like. For my cake i want a round white cake with the black vinage-like flowers all over it, i want the Happy Birthday and my name to be in Teal icing because its my favorite color. i also want black and white pictures of me and my friends from when i was little, and growing up together all over the place. But i dont really have any other ideas on how to decorate it. Any ideas?
