One Favorite Four Ways: Black Leather Sandals

April 22, 2014 by Morgan

A while back I shared a pair of sandals that I had been eying. I’ve been on the hunt to replace my everyday summer sandals – there’s nothing like a great pair of comfortable, pretty sandals! – after four years (or more?) of wearing them into the ground.

Side note: don’t you sometimes wish that there was an awesome directory of every shoe ever made and you could just have your favorites ‘reproduced’ every few years?

After hemming and hawing I finally bit the bullet and ordered these Matisse Paula sandals from Piperlime earlier this month. The verdict is now in – I think I may have found the perfect replacements to my previous, stretched-out favorites. The leather is so soft and comfortable, they have already molded to my feet and I can tell that I’ll be relying on them plenty in the coming months. They remind me a lot of my favorite shoes for Liv (speaking of, I ought to try the adult version one of these days).

Four ways to wear:

1 | summer scarf shirt & dark denim

2 | solo with a colorful maxi dress

3 | striped terry shorts and a blazer-style cardigan

4 | work-meets-happy-hour printed dress

Matisse buttery leather Paula sandals, so happy I tried you out.

PS I haven’t tried this particular pair out yet, but I just noticed that Dolce Vita has the exact same style (albeit a different ankle clasp) called the ‘Dekka’ sandal and it’s currently on sale for $34 over here.

PSS I affectionally call sandals like these my ‘dress up sandals’, as in a bit more fancy than my usual highly coveted rainbows :). Not sure any sandal will ever replace those beach bums.

Great post! Thanks for doing the research! I have been needing new sandals as well and it’s the hardest thing to shop for with kids in “toe!” I ordered the Ella Matisse! 20% off with code “fling.” Thanks!!!
