A Busy Weekend…

Woohoo! I have a working computer! I thought I might take a quick moment to catch you up on this past busy, busy weekend.

I woke up bright and early last Friday (3:30am!) to share a few projects on the local NBC 7/39 San Diego Morning Show. I was honored to be asked to guest appear and it was great fun. While I wait on the my little two minute video clip from the studios, here are a few behind the scenes photos of the local news station.

My birthday was on Saturday and I was thrilled to spend the day with friends in northern San Diego wine country. The hubby had one last surprise up his sleeve before the weekend was over – tickets to the Eagles (my very favorite) Sunday night. I couldn’t ask for a better birthday weekend!

A bit more on the expo (which was Sunday – told you it was a crazy weekend!) and a series of DIY fabric projects just around the corner… now that I have my computer back I can finally sort through these photos and put some fun posts together!

Wonderful Weekend… But One Computer Down

I’ve had such a wonderful weekend – I’ve shared my birthday with great friends on an all-day adventure (a surprise from the husband), had a guest appearance on the San Diego 7/39 NBC Morning Show and just finished a day at the Stylish Spaces Design Expo where I shared many a new project (10 in total!).

But sadly I lost my computer to an ill-fated drop and so while I type out this message on my iPhone I’m lamenting my blog which has received zero updates in four days. My computer (if all goes well!) returns tomorrow and I look forward to sharing many pictures and projects with you!

Handmade Paper Bunting {So Easy & So Pretty!}

I love the look of paper flags draped around a room, outside from tree to tree, or even as the backdrop to a dinner or dessert buffet. There’s something sweet and festive about the idea and it creates instant party ambiance.

Tissue paper cut into rectangles, glue and string are the only materials needed for this quick version (perfect for a Memorial Day picnic!).

Wrap your newly created bunting around an empty gift wrapping paper roll or paper towel roll for easy storage and transportation. This would be perfect for a birthday, shower or even wedding (image strings of soft whites and creams hung around an outdoor venue). Can’t wait to try it out.
