*Giveaway* from Yahgie {an Urban Lifestyle Brand}

April 27, 2010 by Morgan

I’d like to offer a warm welcome to our newest sponsor: Yahgie is an urban lifestyle brand with a chic and contemporary line of products that range from bright and bold wall art to trendy coffee mugs and vibrant fabric by the yard. All pieces are hand illustrated by owner and artist Petergaye S. Kisielewicz. As an introduction of her own, Yahgie is offering a giveaway!

The selection of wall art tops my list of favorites and this Home Bliss print would look amazing in a girl’s bedroom or contemporary living room (the customizable postcard is more than a close second):

How wonderful are these pillows! They add that splash of contemporary to brighten up a traditional room – or they become the focal point in an elegant and cleanly designed modern layout.

The textiles and home accessories are bright, bold, and colorful, with a distinguishing factor – every product is designed considering the life, safety, and welfare of the individual that it will affect.

Petergaye runs an interior design company and blog full of inspiration as well.

GIVEAWAY DETAILS:

******************************************************************************************
Yahgie is offering one lucky winner their choice of any pillow or piece of wall art
(a giveaway valued at $50-$85). Her only request is that the winner share a picture of their new item displayed in their home once it’s received!

To Enter: Jump out to Yahgie’s website and leave a comment here with which product you love best. Good luck!

Giveaway ends Friday, April 30th, at midnight PST. Winner will be chosen randomly and announced the following Monday.

Celebrating Mother’s Day in Style

April 26, 2010 by Morgan

Mom’s Day is just around the corner and I can’t think of a better reason to gather the whole family for a special honoring meal. I am tremendously proud and gracious to have my mom and mom-in-law as role models – and we get to celebrate our mothers for just that reason each year!

Here’s a bit of inspiration in one of my favorite color combinations: red & turquoise.

Now’s the perfect time to drop a little note in the mail inviting everyone for a surprise brunch in honor of moms, grandmas, aunts and all of the special women in your life.

Set up a photobook to serve as a ‘guest book’ where everyone can leave a note next to family images. Serve cranberry mimosas and let each guest offer a special toast or memory.

Wrap up mom’s favorite cookies (don’t forget to include a copy of the recipe) as favors for each family member to take home.

This theme would work great for a shower, birthday, kids party or wedding, too! Images from this inspiration board are from: Party Spot, The Sweetest Occasion, Ashley’s Bride Guide.

Friday Guest Interview: Isabella & Max Rooms

April 23, 2010 by Morgan

It would be a close call… but if I could choose one person to decorate my home from top to bottom it would be Janell of Isabella & Max Rooms. Her style is a creative combination between traditional & contemporary – with a comfy twist.

I adore her daily posts about diy projects and decorating – Janell shares step-by-step tutorials on everything from sewing and lining drapes to reupholstering occasional chairs, along with her inspiration process for her beautifully decorated home & client projects.

You might recognize the above room from an inspiration board I created a while back for my own living room . I *love* it – everything from the colors to the beautiful patterns and those wonderful antlers above the mantle.

A bit about Janell: “I have always been passionate about design… I first studied painting and drawing, receiving a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After working briefly for a clothing manufacturer, I launched my own line [and] when a move took me to San Francisco I opened a boutique where I continued to design for my wholesale line.

Several years later, with a move to Portland, Oregon and the arrival of my wonderful children Isabella and Max, my focus shifted to the home and interior design. In 2006, I started my current business creating warm and eclectic interiors. It is a field I am thoroughly enjoying being involved in and challenged by!”

Let’s dive right into this interview and see the rest of her home! Including her son Max’s map-inspired bedroom (the chalkboard paint is genius), a beautiful teal & coral bedroom and remodeled living room.…
