Homemade Spider Webs: 6 DIY Ways

October 28, 2009 by Morgan

DIY Spider Webs Yarn

Making your own ghoolish spider webs doesn’t have to be tricky or expensive — here are six fool-proof solutions for crafting some serious spider spookiness for your trick-or-treaters!

DIY Spider Webs

From electrician’s tape to screen netting (that stuff you use to block the sun on the porch) to pipecleaners to yarn… you’ll likely find these materials in your own garage or craft room! Trim boat netting into triangles for the porch, shred cheesecloth for the dinner table or piece together yarn, string or rope for a giant DIY web!

Hosting a Halloween Dinner Party?

October 27, 2009 by Morgan

Halloween Tablescape 1

Denise, over at Little Ant Design, created this fun Halloween tablescape in 2008 (featured on Hostess with the Mostess!) that’s perfect for a spooky dinner party! I had to highlight it this year as here as well — because it’s just too creative!

Halloween Tablescape 2

Fabric of the Week: Carolina Irving Textiles

October 27, 2009 by Morgan

Carolina Irving: Fabric of the Week

I adore Carolina Irving for so many reasons — from her clean, consistent look to her diverse offerings (you’ll find a block print, country floral, wide stripe and geometric pattern in her latest line, for example) that you really can’t go wrong with.

Former editor of House & Garden and Vogue Living, Carolina has always had a keen eye for fabric and fashion. While her line is still only available through select showrooms (my one big gripe with interior design-style collections), you may be able to nab a yard or swatch through eBay or perhaps even splurge through the traditional route. I’m eyeing this paprika Andaluz print for my dining room chairs…

Fabric of the Week: Caroline Irving

Is there a fabric designer or a specific print that you love? Send it on over to Pepper as a ‘Fabric of the Week’ suggestion and share the secret with us all!
