Ready for a little spring eye candy? I almost fell out of my chair when I came across this absolutely adorable ‘recycled chic’ backyard party. I’m loving the idea of a *sweet* celebration for the coming months!
A vintage candy & cakes theme would work just as well for a shower, a wedding or even Easter.
Style Me Pretty shares this lovely photoshoot, complete with colorful poms, a delicious dessert table (make that the most adorable bookshelf you’ve ever seen!) and vintage place settings. I’m head-over-heels in love with every detail.
I can’t decide which perfect little piece of this party I like best. Is it the mis-matched paper prints (on the signs, as drawer liners, the background for the cake table, as place mats…) or the amazing floral designs (did you see that tablescape up top??) or the mouth-watering desserts!
More delicious photos - including the invitations, adorable handmade pillows and petite cakes - after the jump!Continue reading →
I can’t recall where I first discovered 6th Street Design School but I became a regular follower immediately. Kirsten is an aspiring designer in the very last semester of design school – and she shares creative and fun suggestions for reworking your space on a regular basis.
Her ideas are bright, colorful and inspiring. I’m always motivated to reupholster a bench, find a new rug or hunt down that perfect lampshade after reading Kirsten’s latest post. I can’t wait to see her in action when she graduates and I LOVE my daily dose of 6th Street inspiration.
In her own words: “This blog is a place for me to express my ever-evolving style and to share what I love about Interior Design. I want to document things I love. I call this blog 6th Street Design School because even after I graduate I always want to be a student of Design. I never want to stop learning.”
If Kirsted could be a room, this would be her:
Kirsten’s remodel of her son Jett’s room really caught my eye and I posted on it back in January.
If you love her style as much as I do, you will adore her four answers to PDB’s interview questions as well as wonderful eye-candy from her own home and her inspiration! Continue reading →
Wendy, from the blog Dozi Design, created this enchanting Woodland Critters baby shower for a friend.
Each piece of the celebration was made by hand – from the beautifully designed invites to the chopped up backyard branches that became place card holders.
Guests were asked to paint themselves on small wooden dolls as future toys for baby Emilia – she’ll forever have close friends to play with!
For the main centerpiece, Wendy decorated a manzanita branch with felt leaves in various shades of green. She and her other party hostesses sewed small birds and foxes, as well as knitted clever fox and raccoon props for the photobooth!
Small muslin drawstring pouches were hand sewn and filled with homemade candied pecans for favors – each received a little squirrel stamp Wendy carved out of an eraser. I’m so impressed with every detail of this shower!
